She joined a team of outstanding professionals at the university’s renowned Leahurst Equine Practice. While working there as a Principal Veterinary Surgeon, she was awarded her Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Equine Practice) from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Dr Holland is a lifelong learner who has since obtained multiple international qualifications. She has studied with the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists (ABVA) and the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS). On completion, she was awarded the Certificate in Veterinary Acupuncture, covering Western and Chinese acupuncture. Dr Holland is one of only a few Veterinary Surgeons in the UK to hold this advanced qualification.

Dr Holland obtained international certification in Veterinary Chiropractic from the International Veterinary Chiropractic Association (IVCA) in 2017. She became one of the first Veterinary Surgeons in the UK to hold a professional certificate in animal chiropractic. She was also elected to the committee of the British Veterinary Chiropractic Association (BVCA), which is dedicated to promoting excellence in the profession.

Dr Holland has spent many years successfully rehabilitating injured and post-operative horses. In 2022, she underpinned this knowledge by qualifying as a Certified Equine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CERP) from the University of Tennessee. More recently, she became the first British Veterinary Surgeon to become a Lantra-certified bit and bridle fitter.

An advocate of evidence-based veterinary medicine, Dr Holland believes an accurate diagnosis coupled with a customised approach to treatment achieves the best possible outcome. By combining her extensive academic, practical and clinical training, she established her own business. Through tailored and integrated treatment plans, she optimises the performance of equine athletes while also helping to restore mobility and wellness in horses of all disciplines. She continues to further her professional development to enhance the quality of life of the horses in her care.

A primary school teacher once told Rachel that she should be a secretary-she was so good at organising not only her work but the others in the class! Rachel took her advice and after Secretarial College started working for the Partner in Charge of the Tax Department of a Big 6 Accountancy firm and headed up a team of seven secretaries.

She started working for herself in 2013 and with Dr Angela Holland in 2019. Since then she has used her love of organising in helping with the smooth running of the Clinics, bookings in general and Dr Angela Holland! She is the first point of contact and will efficiently deal with questions, bookings and payments in an efficient and friendly manner.
